THE DOGS & THE CATS

Siber the Siberian Husky and Ruby the Alsatian mix both moved up to the Isle of Skye with us over four years ago.  Both are rescue dogs who have adapted quite well to life on the croft.

Four years ago Siber thought it was her job to chase all of the croft animals.  Now she is perfectly content to lie comfortably by and watch the parade of animals around her.

Ruby is a good helper on the croft.  She accompanies us for the animal feeding in the morning and night.  Ruby has been known to "help" us herd the sheep, the pigs and even the chickens!

Jack turned a year old in December.  He has learned a lot by following Ruby around the croft.  Although he is still a playful puppy he now knows that chickens, sheep and pigs are not for chasing.  (Although sometimes the pigs do instigate the game of tag!)

But no matter how much fun it is on the croft nothing beats a ride in the truck!

Silver and Rocky are the two enforcers on the croft.  They do a wonderful job keeping the critter population down in the feed sheds.  They live outside in the byre, although they do love to sneak a nap in a warm windowsill whenever they can!
