Welcome to our Croft!

     14 Lower Milovaig is a working croft situated on fourteen acres within the Glendale Estate, bordered on the north by beautiful Loch Pooltiel.  We enjoy stunning views of Dunvegan Head with the Outer Hebrides as a spectacular backdrop.

    Current residents of No. 14 are the hens, goats, sheep, pigs, and our helpers, the dogs and the cats.  Together with the garden these furry and feathered friends make up our croft.

    We spend time each day feeding, cleaning and tending to our animals.  Throughout the growing season the garden also demands a massive investment of time and energy.  We find all these efforts to be well rewarded.  There is no better feeling than providing the family meal from a closely tended garden and well cared for animals!

Skye Croft Produce Company

     Skye Croft Produce Company has evolved slowly over the past four years.  It has grown from a desire to share a bit of our crofting lifestyle with others.  Our initial aim of total self-sufficiency has come wonderfully close to being realised.  We were utilizing most of that which we produced and found neighbours & visitors were happy to purchase any excess we had.

     While we are still producing primarily for our own consumption the amount and variety of what we are producing has expanded.  Skye Croft Produce Company now encompasses five aspects of our locally grown, reared and produced items as well as our original Skye Croft Tours. 

     Skye Croft Eggs are the same amazing Free-Range eggs produced by our happy hens.  We delight in them every time we have them!

     Skye Croft Veg is the excess from our flourishing fruit & veggie patch.  We endeavour to supply at least potatoes and carrots to the Local Producers Market in Portree.  From July 9th through September 24th, 2009 you can find us Thursday mornings in Somerled Square.  We do display more variety at our garden gate.  Stop by for the fresh veg of the day!

     Skye Croft Meats features our remarkable Cumberland sausage or original pork sausage, astounding pork chops & spectacular pork joints from our home-reared pigs.  Skye Croft Meats is available at various producers markets in and around Skye and also directly from the croft.  Please stop in if you are passing.

     Skye Croft Preserves is highlighted by our fabulous Red Raspberry Jam.  As the rhubarb, blueberries, blackberries & gooseberries ripen, further preserves are available at the garden gate.

     Skye Croft Chocolates is our magnificent line of handmade truffles.  Our signature chocolate is the Red Raspberry and Port Wine Dark Chocolate Truffle.  With the addition of our own red raspberry preserves it is truly devine!  They are available directly from the croft and please don't hesitate to contact us about an order.  Our 2-truffle box makes a perfect Skye souvenir.  

     Skye Croft Tours has been a wonderful experience.  While giving visitors a chance to see what we do & to greet the animals, it has also allowed us to meet some lovely families who are interested in the crofting lifestyle.

     We are very proud and pleased to be introducing Skye Croft Produce Company to the Isle of Skye and hope that you will enjoy a taste of it for yourself!
